HHA (Home Health Aid)

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

Home Health Aide course is a continuing education for CNA that will prepare the student for employment in a Home Health Agency or Health Care Registry.  Emphasis is on Care of patients in home setting dealing with psychosocial needs of patients and members of  their household.  This 40 hour course is an upgrade credited as 26 Continuing Education units for CNA, or other Nursing and Allied Health licenses.  CNA state license must be current to receive and maintain HHA license from the DHS (Department of Health Services) after completion of the program.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Current and valid CNA/Nursing License

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CNA completion/certificate
  • CPR "C" Card/BLS
  • Medical Clearance (PE & TB)

Training Period:

HHA 201 1week (5days) 40 hours
Mon to Fri 7am to 5pm
HHA 202 2 1/2 weeks (5days) 40 hours
Sat & Sun 7am to 5pm
HHA 203 2 weeks (10 days) 40 hours
Mon thru Fri 4pm to 8pm
Note: HHA Manual and handouts provided by the school. Textbook is not required.
